A Endocrine Society encaminhou essa semana um informativo mencionando a eleição da nova diretoria, onde está o nome do Dr. Cesar L. Boguszewski, presidente da Comissão Internacional da SBEM. A Endocrine Society é a mais antiga organização mundial da especialidade, que representa endocrinologistas, dedicados à pesquisa de hormônios e à prática clínica.

O Dr. Cesar foi eleito como Membro do Conselho da Sociedade Internacional. Atualmente a Endocrine Society é composta por mais de 18.000 cientistas, médicos, educadores, enfermeiros e estudantes de 122 países. O mandato será de três anos na cadeira designada de Cientista-Clínico no Conselho (2017-2020).

Os novos Diretores e membros do Conselho assumirão suas novas funções na ENDO 2017, a 99ª Reunião Anual e Expo da Sociedade Endócrina, que acontecerá em Orlando (Flórida), de 1 a 4 de abril de 2017.

Members of the Endocrine Society have elected Cesar L. Boguszewski, MD, PhD, to help lead the world’s oldest and largest global membership organization representing endocrinologists, who are dedicated to research on hormones and the clinical practice of endocrinology.

Boguszewski was elected as a Council Member, Clinical Scientist Seat. Medical doctors and scientists known as endocrinologists are at the core of solving the most pressing health problems of our time, from diabetes and obesity to infertility, bone health, and hormone-related cancers.

For the last 100 years, the Endocrine Society’s mission has been to advance excellence in endocrinology and promote its essential and integrative role in scientific discovery, medical practice and human health. Today, the Society’s membership consists of more than 18,000 scientists, physicians, educators, nurses and students in 122 countries.

Prof. Boguszewski will serve a three-year term in the Clinical Scientist designated seat on Council (2017-2020). He is a Professor of Endocrinology in the Federal University of Parana’s Department of Internal Medicine in Curitiba, Brazil.

A Society member for 20 years, he serves on the Society’s Scientific and Educational Programs Core Committee and previously served on the Scientific Statements Task Force and Research Affairs Core Committee. Prof. Boguszewski is Associate Editor for South America for the European Journal of Endocrinology and serves on the editorial board for Archives of Endocrinology and Metabolism.

He is chair of the Brazilian Society of Endocrinology and Metabolism’s International Committee and was chair of the Executive Committee of the Brazilian Congress of Endocrinology and Metabolism 2014. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Pituitary Society and is a member of the Program Organizing Committee of the European Congress of Endocrinology 2017 in Lisbon, Portugal.

The new Officers and Council members will assume their new positions at ENDO 2017, the 99th Annual Meeting & Expo of the Endocrine Society. The meeting will take place in Orlando, FL from April 1-4, 2017.

Endocrinologists are at the core of solving the most pressing health problems of our time, from diabetes and obesity to infertility, bone health, and hormone-related cancers. The Endocrine Society is the world’s oldest and largest organization of scientists devoted to hormone research and physicians who care for people with hormone-related conditions.
